Hit songwriter Clay Mills to be special guest at Aug. 17 Zoom meeting

We are excited to announce that hit songwriter Clay Mills, 16-time ASCAP hit songwriter and two-time Grammy nominee, will be our guest speaker at our Zoom Workshop Meeting on Aug. 17, 2024.

Since moving to Nashville, Clay has had over 150 major artist cuts, including: five No. 1 hits in multiple genres, six Top 5 singles, and 12 Top 40 singles. In 2022, he was inducted into the Mississippi Songwriters Hall Of Fame.

Over the course of his songwriting career, Clay has penned #1 hits for Darius Rucker (“Don’t Think I Don’t Think About It”), Diamond Rio (“Beautiful Mess”), and Kimberley Locke (“Fall”). More hit singles soon followed by Darius Rucker with “History in the Making” and “I Got Nothin’. Mills’ songs have been recorded by artists, such as Lady A, Little Big Town, Clay Walker, Reba McEntire, Trisha Yearwood, Easton Corbin, and Andy Griggs.

Mills believes strongly in songwriters and their value to the world. He’s lobbied Congress on behalf of songwriter’s rights to fair compensation. And along with Marty Dodson, he co-founded SongTown.com, a world-wide online community of songwriters. He co-authored the best-selling book, “Mastering Melody Writing,” and is committed to keeping the craft of songwriting alive and well moving into the future.

The song workshop is on Saturday, Aug. 17 at 1 p.m. MST - Arizona time (1 p.m. PDT/ 2 p.m. MDT/3 p.m. CDT/4 p.m. EDT).

Register here to receive the Zoom link on Aug. 16. There will also be time to receive feedback on songs so you can also use that form to submit a song.  More details about the meeting are available here
