Steve Bloch Bio: Nashville publisher, consultant, and independent song plugger, Steve Bloch, has been listening to and pitching songs in Nashville for almost three decades.

He listens independently for Doug Johnson, creative head of A&R at Black River Entertainment who artists include Kelsea Ballerini, Pryor Baird, Marynn Taylor, and Scotty Hasting. He performs the same services for Dolly Parton’s music supervisor and record producer, Kent Wells, who also currently produces Tanya Tucker. His own boutiques publishing companies have garnered cuts with Faith Hill, Lee Greenwood, Lee Ann Womack, Rebecca Lynn Howard, Emerson Drive, Randy Houser, Jack Ingram, and he currently has three Cody Johnson cuts. As an independent song plugger, Steve secured cuts with Kenny Chesney, Clay Walker, Tracy Byrd, John Berry, Lila McCann, and Hank Jr., to name a few.

“I’m always most interested in a great country song. A great song trumps an “appropriate” pitch every time. Often missing for me these days in today’s contemporary country is heart and real characters I can relate to and root for. I look first for an inviting melody and then lyrical substance with content that matters and is delivered in a compelling, unique, entertaining way”.
